Origin: Yame (八女), Japan
Hojicha (ほうじ茶) is a Japanese roasted green tea made from tea leaves grown in the unique climate of Yame, Japan. The roasting process gives the tea a warm, earthy aroma and reduces its caffeine content. The result is a smooth, toasty flavor.
Packaging: Loose tea in resealable bag
The green tea leaves are roasted at a high heat. Due to this high heat, a large amount of the caffeine in the tea leaves will evaporate. This results in a lower caffeine content in our Hojicha tea.
Deep Smoky and Roasted Aroma and Flavour
Our Hojicha tea is characterised by its deep smoky and roasted aroma and flavour. This flavour together with the lower caffeine content, makes it a tea which you can enjoy throughout the day and even before going to bed.
Yame Origin
Yame is located deep in the mountains in the northern part of Kyushu Island. This mountainous land together with the unique inland climate of Yame, hot during the day and cold at night, enhances the taste of the teas.
